So, I am in bed last night and the police arrive to wake me up. Apparently, my noisy neighbor above with her kids wrestling and stomping I have to deal with (that everyone will attest to) called the police on me for being too noisy. This accusation happened at after 2 in the morning while I was sound asleep.
The police left without any incident but Tuesday morning I was served with a letter by the office that "multiple residents" heard the issue and complained. Fuuny story is that I live next door to the model apartment, across from a very thankful older woman, and another guy, who heard NOTHING.
It's fun living in an apartment. I've been in many from Dallas, TX, Fort Smith, AR, to Tulsa, OK back to Charlotte, NC without ever having a resident issue. Surprisingly she been VERY quiet tonight. =)
Well, it has been some time since my last post. I'm still back in the south which elates my parents who went from seeing me every other year to every few weeks which is just fine.
Unfortunately, work has still been an issue. I had a hot lead back in December through an old friend from where I used to work with to fizzle down to nothing due to corporate downsizing or realization they couldn't afford as many as they wanted to hire. In any event, I am still in the running if they decide to fill a second position or if anyone falters.
While many of you would find this scary, I am sure I can prove myself at this company as worthy to avoid any quick layoff if more cuts are deemed necessary since I have an inside backer. I had also applied at Apple, which had contacted me back in Tulsa and would have been a go, but unfortunately in North Carolina they are a bit weird. To put it best, think needing Secret Service clearance with the runaround they gave me with over 20 years using the platform and not being deserving to work retail. Chris "the Manager" as they put him, never calls you back even after you interview and he tells you what to apply for and that he will "line it up." Trust me, Apple is a good company but I have no idea how they decide their hires as the mostly look like freaks I don't want touching my hardware.
The apartment complex I live in has proved to be very unsafe. Some of you may have received the video I sent where I was approached by a local news station back in early January when checking my mail as we had a murder right outside the entrance driveway to the apartment complex, less than 50 feet from my unit. Needless to say I keep my doors locked at all times and will be moving at the lease end since East Charlotte has turned into a crime riddled area of stabbing, gas stations being robbed, as well as local fast food restaurants held up within 1/4 of a mile from here.
I hate to say it as I found this area safe less than 10 years ago, but it has now turned into an area of continued violence with excessive police protection which only exacerbates the situation (teen was shot in his back in November after police saw him running "with a gun" which he didn't even have). To put it bluntly, when I was a teen, our church used to take us up the the mall right down the road to ice skate. The mall has since faltered closing most of its anchor stores such as Dillard's and Belk. The ice rink was covered over in sand back in December, never to be skated again.
I know most of you are in Texas and I applaud that fact. I'm just giving an update on how my move back "to the south" has went.
Well it's December and I am now back in the Carolinas, Charlotte, NC to be specific.
It's been a long move, and I have a few job offers lined up which are much more promising than the job I had in Broken Arrow, OK. I'm doing better health-wise (blood pressure issues) so I'd love to hear from you. Have a great Christmas and "The Duck" is still around with no phone number changes. =)
3) Remember to roll your windows down when you are getting gas.
If steps 1-3 are not followed as listed, you'll end up having your car alarm unexpectedly go off, locking your doors with your keys inside and your phone on the seat. =)
OK, it's the summer so we've got a new crew on KISS Chat. I want to say welcome to all the new friends we have and looking forward to more in the future.
Now, can anyone put their finger on why some get off on coming in and being a total jerk to everyone? I know you're bored and "there is nothing to do this summer," but what do you get out of it? All you end up doing is look like a fool and flood the chat window with your moronics. It has to be one of the most useless wastes of time I can think of when you could be meeting new people and then actually maybe have "something to do."
We're going to get you removed. So, I guess if you want to be offensive, go ahead. It will only be for a short time.
Off that soapbox for now. Again, welcome to all, but please, don't be an a** in a public arena. =)
